EoLFHS MESSAGE BOARD

INTRODUCTION
The Society's Message Board was created at the end of January 2001 and is called the East of London, England [EoLFHS] Message Board. In June 2001 the Board became part of the Rootsweb, Ancestry.com and Myfamily.com group.

The Message Board has been established as a complementary search tool to the mailing list and is available to anyone wishing to browse or post queries about their ancestors in our area from anywhere in the world.

There are only a few guidelines about usage of the Board. They are fairly similar to the guidelines for the mailing list. The Board is to be used for posting enquiries or information about topics relevant to the East of London only,   including cultural social and historical content. Messages that are not relevant to the EoLFHS area will be deleted.

WHO OWNS THE BOARDS?
Message Boards are operated by Rootsweb and Ancestry.com.  There are thousands of Boards:  Surnames, Geographic areas, Counties, Countries, continents, speciality Topics etc. If you want to know more go HERE

The EoLFHS Query Board is located in the British Isles, London category. Click this URL and when the page loads, add to your Favourites:

TYPES OF MESSAGES
The Board has options to post under Lookup, Obituary, Wills and Deeds etc.  When posting your material you have the option to leave it as a General Query or to classify it as a Birth, Marriage, Cemetery etc. Further notes on the Linked How to Use Page.

INAPPROPRIATE POSTINGS
With an "open" Board such as this, procedures have to be put in place should inappropriate postings be made by users who have no interest in the content of the Board.  Such postings will be deleted and the sender will be blocked from posting to the Board again.
