Committee Member John
Reynolds has provided the following information:
The Society's Computer Group
meets at Trinity Church, Gaynes Road, Upminster from 11.00am - 1:15 pm on
the First Saturday of each month. (Note: This is
prior to the Havering Branch meeting that starts at 2:00pm).
Trinity Church Hall, Upminster
is next to Rooms Stores and is two minutes walk from the Upminster
Underground Station (end of the District Line). At 11:00am we start with
Q&A and members problems. And from 12:00am until 1:00pm we will have a
talk or other demonstration.
This change was brought about
because many members still wished to ask question after the meeting had
finished, which interfered with the
preparations
for the following Havering Branch meeting. On average we now have over 60
members attending these group meetings.
The meetings are intended to
provide a self-help group i.e. I don't know the answer but, I know someone
who does. However members and visiting lecturers give a varied program of
Q & A sessions, talks and demonstrations on a number of subjects. To
provide added interest to these talks we have the use of a data projector
so everyone is able to see what's going on without the need to crowd
around small monitors.
The meetings are open to all
society members, but we would ask you to bring either your membership card
if you have one or a magazine envelope to verify
your membership.
Visitors are also welcome for
which an entrance fee of £1.50 is charged.
