I has taken me sometime to sort out my thoughts, plus take in the enormity of what has happened, and still I do not know what to write. Many years ago I was a police officer. I sat here for at least 30 minutes, thinking of how strickened I would have been if I had lost all my colleagues and friends at Ilford Police Station in the space of two or three minutes. People who would have been and still are intimate family friends plus Godparents to our three children. I have only lost two or three friends over the years, killed in the line of duty in fatal accidents, incidents and terrorist attacks, and that was trial enough for me. I grieve and feel deeply for the greater humanity, who did not ask for any of this to happen to them, but wished to live their lives in peace and see their families grow and prosper. I grieve and feel for our American friends and members, who are really our extended family, and my American family as well. Finally I grieve and feel for my next door neighbour, Omar, a kindly man, who opened his front door to my wife just after the atrocity had happened, weeping and distraught on hearing what had been done in the name of his faith. Couldn't believe the pictures we were getting here in England; only matched by the bombs set off here by IRA (although thank God with no-where near the same loss of life) The unimaginable horror those poor people went through is beyond comprehension. Our love and thoughts are with you. God bless you all and God help the perpetrators of this unspeakable crime.

There are no words that can describe the total horror of what has been perpetrated by thugs and cowards, using an obscene and distorted view of religion to justify their actions. We would sincerely like to express our deepest sympathy to all our transatlantic Cousins, and in particularly those who have lost those close to them. Mike & Jeanette
