TOWER HAMLETS CEMETERY PARK ANNUAL MAY
BANK HOLIDAY OPEN DAY
Monday 30th May from 11.00 - 4.00 the "Friends" of Tower
Hamlets Cemetery Park invite everybody to their annual bank holiday open day
at the Cemetery Park, on Southern Grove E2, a three-minute walk from Mile
End Tube station.
The Open Day is FREE

UPDATE from GEORGE SMITH
George Smith provides an update on the survival of this

on the Barking Branch HERE
We are hoping to have a guest society each month. It was
tried a couple of times this year with Barking Historical and Newham History
Society and was very successful.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE
FORTHCOMING AGM
If booking a meal (form enclosed with the Current CA) Please
state which of the three you require and make cheques payable to the East of
London FHS and enclose a SAE if you require a receipt.
STALLHOLDERS AT THE AGM
We have now sold 71 tables so there will be a wide variety of
exhibitors taking part.
Apart from our own extensive book stall, we will have a help /
promotion table.

There will be an extensive display of Naval Records as we
are running the Fair on a Maritime Theme to celebrate the 200th anniversary
of Trafalgar.
DOORS OPEN FOR MEMBERS AT 9-45 ( LEFT HAND QUEUE PLEASE)
ADMISSION IS FREE FOR MEMBERS
PUBLIC-ADULTS £2-UNDER 16 £1
The fair will not in anyway interfere with the AGM.
PLEASE come along and support your society and if there is
anyone who can get a poster(s) in their local shop, club or in fact
anywhere, please e-mail me as above or phone 0208-500-6330. Ansaphone will
say Ancestor Detectives but that is me, so please leave your number and I
will be call you back.
All profit will be going to the Filby fund to help get
nearer to owning our own research centre, etc.

SEEKING GUNSMITH ANCESTORS?
Stan Cook (Member 00474) would like to remind members
about his ongoing project the Gunmakers & Allied Trades Index. The Index was
established in 1982 and now includes over 9000 names. Stan is willing to do
lookups. Further details about the Index can be viewed on the GENUKI site
